Livingston Program Manager Job Description
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Big Sky Country has been serving the youth of Southwest Montana for 50 years. Our mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.
Overview of Position
The Livingston Program Manager is a part-time position (5-15 hours per week) and is primarily responsible for managing a site-based (SB) mentoring programming in Livingston, MT. The program manager will be responsible to enroll volunteers (Bigs) and youth (Littles), creates matches, conduct weekly activities and facilitate programming, and offer match support to ensure child safety, positive impacts for youth, and constructive and satisfying relationships between youth and volunteers. This role requires a high-level of customer service and organization, focusing on youth safety and youth and volunteer needs throughout the program (including enrollment and matching). This role is also key in creating a strong sense of affiliation with BBBS on the part of program participants and school leadership and staff . While the primary focus of this role is site-based programming, the incumbent may be called upon to support other program functions, including community-based programming and match support, as agency needs require. Furthermore, this role may entail limited assistance with various fundraising events and functions.
Role Responsibilities & Duties
Follow BBBS Standards and Service Delivery Model for all program steps.
Manage Big & Little recruitment for Livingston site-based programming.
Manage enrollment of Bigs & Littles, including interviews, and ensure all paperwork is collected in an accurate, timely manner.
Facilitate matching process, supervision, closure for program participants.
Manage match support contacts for SB program participants and ensure they are completed on time and documented according to BBBS standards.
Prepare and facilitate training for Bigs & Littles.
Coordinate and oversee program activities during the scheduled programming time on a weekly basis throughout the school year.
Ensure that any problems and/or questions from youth, volunteers, parents/guardians, teachers, and school administration are promptly and courteously resolved.
Collaboratively work as a team member with our Bozeman Program Manager and Match Support Specialist, as well as other BBBS staff ; this may include providing additional support to our Livingston group mentoring program and having a small caseload of community-based matches for match support.
Proactively and professionally communicate with other team members in person and across a number of virtual platforms (e.g. Gmail, Slack, Zoom, etc.)
Facilitate continual contact with school administration and troubleshoot any problems.
Attend community networking and outreach events as appropriate.
Support fundraising efforts, including attending Bowl For Kids’ Sake (in Livingston) and The Big One Event to assist the BBBS team.
Participate in BBBS staff meeting and retreats as needed.
Work in close coordination with other BBBS team members to coordinate outreach and networking efforts.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
The person in this position must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and organizational and time management skills. Ability to confi dently apply strong interpersonal and social-emotional skills with adults and youth in a range of cultural environments. Possess a strong ability to work independently. General awareness of resources available in the community. Knowledge of best practices in Child Safety, Trauma-Informed Care, and Equity and Inclusion (BBBS will provide further training in these areas).
This position will report directly to the Program Director.
Pay is depending on experience and will range from $18-$22 per hour.
As a part time, hourly position, this position does not qualify for certain benefi ts (e.g. healthcare or IRA contributions).
This position will begin in December 2026 or January 2027.
